Corporate Counsel The candidate should have Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of complex commercial, technology (including cloud and hybrid/SaaS models), intellectual property, channel, supply chain and vendor agreements, and data protection agreements. Advise on business impacts of global data protection laws and regulations across our products and business initiatives identifying risks and/or areas of improvement. Provide balanced legal guidance to global product and engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle. Advise on compliance issues, regulatory and industry standards with a focus on consumer protection, privacy, and partnership/commercial risks involved in negotiating technology licenses, distributing/reselling hardware/software, and other related matters. Respond promptly and effectively to legal requests from sales, business development, operations, senior management, and other internal clients, and advise on recommended courses of action and legal risks. Ability to judge when to escalate identified issues as may be necessary. Support continuous improvement of standard form agreements, policies and legal processes related to commercial transactions. Handle special projects as requested. Conduct responsibilities, projects and interactions in accordance with stated values. The candidate should be a lawyer qualified to practice in at least one U.S. state, and have a law degree from a reputable law school. Must have 6-8 years of advising on legal and regulatory aspects of product and software development (hardware knowledge is a bonus) including familiarity with data privacy issues and operationalizing GTM plans for new product launches. Significant experience in commercial drafting and negotiation of various technology partnerships including familiarity with logistics, supply chain vendors, and distributor/reseller or channel models. Demonstrated ability to proactively recognize, advise, and train on compliance risks for our internal business clients and leaders. Must be organized and efficient; able to manage several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure. Excellent interpersonal skills, eagerness to learn, sharp business judgment, strategic thinking, flexibility and ability to work independently.
