Senior Employment and Litigation Counsel Duties: Provide practical advice and counsel to HR, management and business units on handling employee relations related matters including employee mobility, recruitment, hiring, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, employee counseling, discipline, performance management, leaves and accommodations, wage and hour, diversity and inclusion, independent contractors, conflicts of interest and benefits issues. Monitor federal, state, and local legislation, regulations and case law on employment-related matters pertinent to the company, such as guidance regarding COVID impact on sick leave and workplace safety; communicate updates and recommendations to cross functional teams; drive and effectively execute end to end initiatives as applicable. Develop scalable process in relation to employee mobility and restrictive covenants. Assist in designing, writing, reviewing, establishing, revising and implementing applicable global policies, procedures, and communications. Identify and conduct training on matters such as employment law updates and best practices in hiring diverse talent. Lead or provide advice and support on internal investigations, as appropriate, in conjunction with other business and corporate functions. Recommend and help implement appropriate actions. Defend employment-related and non-employment related claims and litigation, including managing outside counsel in global litigation matters. Assist in preparing and managing outside counsel budgets and forecasts to minimize fees and costs to resolve issues effectively. Manage and scale global litigation tracking and reporting capabilities, and various e-discovery tools and solutions. Respond to administrative claims from governmental agencies, subpoenas and settlement demands, and negotiate resolution of claims. Partner with HR and/or Employee Relations in fact finding inquiries. Help drive various acquisition related projects such as governance frameworks and integration; support other merger and acquisition activities as needed.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. JD Degree from an accredited law school. Current member in good standing of the California bar, with deep knowledge of California and federal employment laws and regulations (including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, FEHA, PAGA, etc.) and experience with federal and state agencies (DOL, EEOC, DLSE, DFEH etc.). 8 years of relevant experience. A practical, proactive, collaborative and business-focused approach to problem solving with the ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment. Ability to operate as a team player who can effectively work with and manage competing priorities in a fast- paced environment. Ability to understand complex issues, assess risk, balance different perspectives, and provide confident and concise business-focused advice and counsel to all levels in the organization globally. Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to build strong and deep working relationships with internal stakeholders over multiple geographical locations. Other Desired Skills and Knowledge: Familiarity with international labor and employment framework and practices. Experience Level with Business Tools. Proficiency in utilizing business tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
