Senior Counsel- Employment & Litigation Duties: Advise the People Team on a broad range of employment issues, including recruiting, hiring, benefits, compensation and equity programs, leave administration, payroll, performance management, internal workplace investigations, termination issues, labor issues, wage and hour matters, workers compensation, OSHA, and other employment related regulatory developments. Support investigations related to EEOC, DOL, NLRB, OSHA, and other state related agencies. Manage business and intellectual property litigation in coordination with appropriate business teams and outside counsel. Audit wage and hour practices to ensure compliance with the FLSA and state labor laws around the country, including with respect to exempt/non-exempt classification. Recommend and implement scalable employment policies and practices that balance legal risk with business impact. Understand and advise on relevant developments in labor and employment laws. Draft, review, and analyze employment-related agreements, including consulting, severance, incentive compensation, and confidentiality agreements. Advise on international employment matters.

Qualifications: JD Degree from a top-tier law school. Active membership in good standing in at least one state Bar. 5+ years of experience as an employment attorney at a major employment law firm. In-house counsel experience for high-growth global technology companies a plus. Prior experience with employment-based litigation, general commercial litigation and internal investigations. Prior experience litigating or counseling on compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws. Excellent legal and business judgment with the ability to assess and communicate risks to business partners in a clear and actionable way. Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to concisely explain legal situations to business leaders and other non-lawyers.
