Corporate Counsel Responsibilities: Assist lenders on loan work outs, including but not limited to bankruptcy foreclosures and; participate in Loan Resolution Committee meetings. Review and file pleadings, petitions and other documents relevant to collection actions on behalf of the Bank. Mange outside counsel on major litigation and acting as liaison with management; analyzing the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents. Advising on contract status, legal risks, and the legal liabilities associated with different deals. Providing training and clarification to the company on legal topics and legal language. Give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics (labor law, partnerships, international ventures, corporate finance etc.). Research and evaluate different legal risk factors regarding business decisions and operations. Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), creating relations of trust. Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company's full legal rights, including but not limited to assistance in drafting and review of loan documents.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university required. Must be licensed to practice law in the states with which FIBT currently has branch locations (ND, MN, and AZ). 5-10 years prior experience in banking, private practice with litigation and bankruptcy expertise.
