Senior Counsel, Regulatory Compliance Duties: Advise corporate clients on compliance with the Motor Vehicle Safety Act, NHTSA regulations, TREAD Act reporting, and recall and field action implementation. Assist the Quality, Industry Standards and Regulations, and Innovation teams in identifying and addressing regulatory and potential liability issues impacting product development and operations. Monitor and interpret legislative, regulatory, administrative, and judicial developments that may have an impact on product development, manufacture, and performance requirements. Support Bridgestone Americas Government Affairs team in areas concerning safety or product legislation and NHTSA rulemaking. This work includes proposing or responding to future rules and assisting in federal and state legislative initiatives involving motor vehicle safety issues. Represent the company's legal interests in administrative processes and on policy committees of industry associations. Evaluate regulatory compliance issues and counsel corporate clients from diverse business teams and various global companies. Work with other Bridgestone Americas attorneys and functions in business transactions, product and business litigation, investigations, and the development of policies and guidelines on issues relating to regulatory issues. Conduct training for teammates in all areas of regulatory compliance. Perform special projects and demonstrate leadership ability on a wide range of issues. Manage outside counsel and regulatory legal budget. Infrequent travel may be required.

Qualifications: JD Degree with from an ABA accredited law school. Admitted to a state bar and able to practice law in the state of Tennessee. 5-10 years' experience as a practicing attorney. Familiarity with the following areas of law: Motor Vehicle Safety, product liability, product quality, and product safety. Experience representing corporations to a variety of governmental authorities (preferred).
