Director & Corporate Counsel, Transactions & Privacy Law Responsibilities: The candidate will manage internal privacy compliance programs, training and processes to ensure we meet our obligations under those programs. Will help guide privacy-forward product development and evaluate the impact of privacy laws, regulatory guidance and enforcement actions. Will provide practical FTC regulatory and competition risk mitigation strategies across multiple business teams, but particularly, for Marketing and Marketing Affiliate Partnership teams. Works closely with the Product, Marketing, Engineering, Sales, Security, Compliance, Quality Assurance/Regulatory, Intellectual Property, and other departments closely with those in our growing legal department. Identify and manage risks and propose solutions to mitigate risks with respect to transactions, contracts, operations and litigation.

Qualifications: Law degree from a major U.S. law school (or foreign equivalent) required with active license to practice law in one of the following states: New York; Illinois; California; or Texas. 3-5 years of experience at a law firm and/or in an in-house legal department. Experience drafting and negotiating data protection and privacy-related agreements and business associate agreements. Prior experience with US and international data privacy and data security issues. Strong analytic capabilities and written and oral communication skills. Advanced competency in structuring complex technology relationships and agreements with attention to detail and strong drafting skills a must. Effective negotiator with strong business acumen and ability to serve as a business advisor. Ability to work across multiple product offerings and advise in data protection and privacy regulatory and compliance matters.
