Corporate Counsel, Employment Law Compliance The candidate will responsible for ensuring compliance with employment law and human resources best practices. Corporate Counsel, Employment Law Compliance acts as liaison between the Employment Law Compliance team and other TriNet departments to ensure that employment law and compliance concerns are properly prioritized, addressed, and implemented. Among other things, Counsel would work closely with business colleagues; handle employment law and compliance questions regarding PEOs, payroll, benefits and HR services; provide advice and deliver resolutions to complex legal issues in the areas of human resources and employment law; and handle miscellaneous business and compliance matters referred to the Legal Department. Work closely with corporate human resources, marketing and communication partners, customer experience colleagues, and other corporate counsel to address employment law, human resources, and payroll compliance concerns. Provide advice and counsel in the areas of Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, WARN Act, and related state and local laws. Provide education and guidance to the internal colleagues and teams on matters relating to employment law and compliance, and human resources. Review for employment law compliance purposes various marketing materials, customer and employee communications, training materials, and related collateral. Draft and provide input and direction to development of employment-related policies, address process and policy issues, and provide guidance and recommendations for optimal resolution. Provide legal subject matter expertise and leadership to internal teams working to implement internal and external communications and changes to systems and processes required by new legal developments impacting employment law compliance. Research and respond to questions from business colleagues related to legal requirements for PEOs, payroll, benefits and HR services. Respond to miscellaneous business and employment matters referred to Department. Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager's discretion. Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Member in good standing with [at least one of the following State Bars: New York, South Carolina, or Florida, or qualification and ability to be fully admitted or admitted as in-house counsel in one of these jurisdictions, if available under state bar rules.] 6 to 10 years Employment and Labor Law experience, including litigation and counseling in a corporate environment. Prior in-house experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience or familiarity with New York and California employment laws. Experience in advising management in legal matters. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization, Strong knowledge and understanding of both state and federal employment laws, Excellent interpersonal skills, Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace, Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities, Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Demonstrated ability to use legal training to lead or influence operational process, procedure, and strategy.
