Senior Corporate Counsel Employment & Benefit Law Duties: First-chair responsibility for defending U.S. administrative charges before federal and state agencies, including oversight and coordination of internal investigations, drafting position statements, drafting settlement agreements, responding to discovery requests, and representing the company in mediations and fact-finding conferences across the United States. Managing U.S. employment litigation docket, including budgeting, accrual formulation, strategy development and settlement negotiations for complex class actions, FLSA collective actions, restrictive covenant litigation and single-plaintiff discrimination cases. Providing daily legal advice and counsel to HR professionals and business leaders on the full range of employment law matters, including, for example, allegations of discrimination, harassment and/or retaliation; employment terminations; wage and hour matters; restrictive covenant agreements; privacy; disability; leaves of absence; and compliance with other federal and state employment laws; Counseling and advising on the HR implications of strategic business initiatives. Advising HR on investigations (including those originating internally based upon employee inquiries, complaints and/or internal audits or reviews) or externally (e.g. from the Compliance Helpline, or in agency charges), and coordinate and collaborate with other areas within the Legal Department and the company; Reviewing, developing, and presenting appropriate training for HR, managers, and employees, including advising on and assuring compliance with mandatory employment law training requirements. Assisting HR/Compliance identify appropriate training topics and resources.

Qualifications: BA/BS from an accredited school. JD Degree from an accredited law school with a license to practice law. 5+ years experience as an employment lawyer, with specific experience in counseling, contract drafting, negotiation, litigation and representation of clients before administrative agencies. Familiarity with class/collective actions, and with e-discovery issues, both preferred.
