Assistant General Counsel, Employment The candidate will provide broad legal support for the company with a primary focus on employment law. This role will be expected to efficiently manage outside counsel that may be used to assist in these efforts, and will also support significant transactions by conducting research, facilitating due diligence, and participating in negotiations, as needed. Support litigation and employment legal counsel on risk matters. Monitor employment law requirements and new developments actively; identify areas for legal focus. Draft and/or review employment policies, agreements, and communications. Conduct legal research, as needed. Work with and oversee outside counsel, as needed. Support the legal department; provide assistance on special projects; including, but not limited to, litigation matters, as needed. Ability to be aggressive to support the company's goals and needs; ability to be collaborative and a team player. Ability to be proactive; ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. Ability to work within cross-functional teams. Ability and willingness to work hard. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously within defined timelines and prioritize, as needed. Apply excellent verbal and written communication skills. Apply excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to be adaptable and open to change; ability to work in ambiguous situations and respond to new information and unexpected circumstances. Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork. Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures. Maintain regular and reliable attendance. Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization. Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school. 3+ years of experience practicing law in private practice or in-house. Strong knowledge of contract drafting, reviewing, and negotiating. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. 4+ years of experience practicing law in private practice or in-house focused on employment law. Experience or background in healthcare and/or life-sciences. Experience supporting the due diligence process during M & A integrations.
