Corporate Counsel The candidate will be providing guidance to the HR organization on compliance with various employment-related laws such FEHA, FMLA, CFRA, PDLA, FSLA, PAGA, the California Labor Code, and other state-specific employment laws. Drafting and reviewing compensation and other employment agreements; Investigating complaints; Responding to administrative charges; Managing employment litigation from the pre-litigation stage through resolution; Managing enforcement of restrictive covenant agreements; Researching legal issues and tracking industry legal trends; Creating and maintaining matters in matter management and legal billing systems; Responding to requests from outside counsel; Willingness to perform other duties as assigned; and Treating people with respect; keeping commitments; inspiring the trust of others; working ethically and with integrity; upholding organizational values; accepting responsibility for own actions. Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in-house or in a law firm, including providing advice and counsel and litigating employment matters with a focus on California law; License to practice law in California; Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage deadlines and workflow in a fast-paced environment; Excellent communication, analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills; Proactive, solution-oriented approach to identifying and resolving issues; Public company experience a plus; Effective organizational and time management skills. Ability to work with little to no supervision while performing duties. Undergraduate and law degree.
