Commercial Bank Litigation and Restructuring Senior Counsel Duties: Legal management of distressed assets both in and out of court to mitigate losses, including bankruptcies and restructures as to both sole lending arrangements as well as multi-tiered capital structures and syndicated loans. Legal management and advice on short and long term workouts, Article 9 foreclosures, debt for equity transactions and other market transactions; Working closely with a variety of functions, including, the commercial bank legal team, risk, credit, compliance, corporate communications, and government affairs to identify risk and trends in order to mitigate risk and improve processes and procedures; Working closely with other members of the litigation team on investigations, litigations, subpoenas and other litigation issues; Written and oral reporting and briefing of legal and business leaders on key matters and issues; Engagement and management of outside counsel; Budget forecasting; and Other tasks as needed by the legal department or business.

Qualifications: JD Degree. Active member in good standing with the New York state bar, or the ability to be admitted to the New York bar on motion or registered in-house counsel. 5+ years of law firm or in-house legal department experience (or a combination of the 2). Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence others; The ability to prioritize and manage a significant volume of work on a broad array of topics with multiple and simultaneous deadlines is critical; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Ability and willingness to prepare top notch written materials and power points as part of general case management and reporting as well as briefing and communicating with key constituents; Ability and willingness to work as a team player to create and manage processes, to get issues resolved across organizational boundaries, and to build collegial and effective relationships with business leaders, attorneys, paralegals, project managers and administrative assistants at all levels of the company. Preferred Qualifications: 7+ years of major law firm or in-house legal department experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, commercial litigation and/or investigations. Knowledge of laws, regulations and trends applicable to regulated banks, litigation, bankruptcy and creditors ? rights. Experience with commercial lending transactions and structured finance including, energy finance, asset-based loans, cash flow loans, sponsor finance and acquisition financings. Experience resolving issues across organizational borders.
