Privacy and Product Counsel The candidate will be focused on the needs of customers. Will have an initial focus on the customers in regulated industries (like healthcare and the U.S. public sector). Further, support go-to-market efforts to address the privacy needs of customers under other legal frameworks that are key to our business (like the GDPR). Engage with cross-functional teams to build and adapt's cloud products so they are loved by all customers. Effectively communicate privacy and data use requirements to the business that are associated with regulated industry laws and certifications (such as HIPAA and FedRAMP), and global privacy laws (such as the GDPR). Design and manage scalable processes. Translate product capabilities and compliance programs into contractual commitments. Negotiate privacy and data use issues in customer and vendor contracts, and create playbooks for the commercial legal teams. Foster customer and sales team trust through clear communication and advocacy. Participate in the response to potential privacy or data security incidents, including investigations, notifications, and other resolution efforts. The candidate should have JD and admission to one State Bar with 4-8+ years practicing law, with in-house experience preferred. Experience counseling a technology company on key global privacy frameworks, with some experience in one of HIPAA and FedRamp preferred. Must have a passion for working with technical teams to develop customer-centric solutions. Build relationships with business stakeholders to strengthen the connection between the teams and the business. Must take the initiative to master new subject areas, whether new laws, new technologies or business strategies. Must have a passion to understand our customers, products, culture, and business model.
