Associate Corporate Counsel Duties: Assist in reviewing, preparing and filing pleadings and discovery as well as all responsive pleadings, motions, depositions, interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissions and responses thereto, as well as all pretrial notices, motions, designations, and any other discovery necessary to prepare for trial and/or settlement. Conduct internal and external investigations of complaints concerning violations of company policies, laws, and regulations. Utilize in-depth knowledge and expertise in one or more substantive legal practice areas, such as consumer financial transactions, commercial financial transactions, retail banking, small business banking, corporate banking, corporate law, and regulatory compliance Perform moderately complex to complex legal, compliance and transactional research and analysis, and relative to such research and analysis, make decisions and communicate or escalate significant risks and issues, with recommendations for action, to Legal Senior Management. Assess, manage, and resolve pre-litigation disputes and lawsuits filed in state and federal courts against Westlake entitles in all 50 US States. Assist in preparing Develop a thorough understanding of the company's business, people, markets, brands, facilities, customers, and competitors to identify trends, anticipate issues, provide business-oriented solutions, and formulate appropriate long-term strategies. Effectively acquire, assemble and manage legal documents and files responsive to time-sensitive inquiries.

Qualifications: Membership in California State Bar. JD Degree or equivalent professional qualification from a nationally-recognized accredited law school. Law firm experience in the financial services industry, preferably with indirect automobile retail installment contracts is preferred. Knowledge of federal, state and local laws relevant to the operation of a financial services company engaged in the purchase of automobile retail installment contracts. Excellent problem-solving capabilities, judgment, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Ability to operate autonomously while being a team player who brings a positive attitude to the workplace and works collaboratively with other members of the Legal team. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving workplace. Ability to think quickly on your feet, convey grace under pressure, and simultaneously manage workloads, multiple client demands and shifting priorities. Be a resourceful self-starter, hard-working, confident, and have a passion for results.
