Product and Privacy Counsel Duties: Work with the engineering and product teams to develop and execute a cohesive product legal strategy and implement best practices. Support our Product team in advising on the legal compliance aspects of new products and features. Monitoring, reviewing and assessing new laws that impact business, including privacy, data governance, IP, machine learning/AI, security, and providing practical advice on their implications. Assist in creating, identifying, implementing, and managing privacy, data governance, information security, and incident response policies, procedures, and guidance. Support privacy projects, provide DPA contracting support, and facilitate integration of privacy, risk, and compliance requirements into business planning processes, including marketing and new product development. Support Sales, Partner and Customer Success organizations in structuring commercial transactions, and drafting and negotiating commercial agreements. Support business teams in structuring purchasing transactions, and drafting and negotiating agreements with vendors. Advise business teams worldwide on legal compliance, including on data protection and privacy issues. Working closely with others in the cross functional teams, including finance, sales ops, tech ops, other internal teams to provide contracting expertise and ensure consistency and compliance with company policies and processes. Advise senior management and business clients on aspects of law globally and transactions of all types. Assist in updating contract templates, drafting global corporate policies and processes, ensuring regulatory requirements are adhered to and developing training materials on relevant topics such as the contracting process and data privacy and legal compliance in the sales and contracting processes. Other duties may include advising on general corporate, vendor relationships and risk management issues.

Qualifications: Accredited law degree from a highly regarded school. Admission to the bar and a current license in one or more states. 5-7 years of relevant legal experience, in software company and/or in a law firm counseling rapid-growth technology companies. Knowledge of subscription technology industry. Requires substantive experience in advising on privacy and data protection matters, including with respect to the GDPR and CCPA. Substantive experience with drafting and negotiating complex legal agreements (sales, partnership, procurement, NDAs, others); experience with other internal company functions or areas of law is desired (such as intellectual property or privacy). Substantive experience with commercial technology transactions. Substantive experience dealing with/collaborating with Sales, Sales Management, Executive team on complex contract negotiations. Highly responsive and service-oriented attitude. Ability to maintain strong working relationships with demanding internal clients. Ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision, while adapting quickly to a rapidly changing and challenging environment. Practical yet creative problem-solving approach that emphasizes addressing business needs while protecting interests. Balancing competing priorities of constituencies as compared to business needs and using astute judgment as to when to seek executive level direction.
