Associate General Counsel - Employment The candidate will analyze, apply and ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations and policies across jurisdictions to day-to-day situations. Participates in and influences the decision-making process with appropriate clients and stakeholders. Educates clients and stakeholders on legal matters, policies, and procedures. Identifies and assesses legal risks and opportunities within the labor and employment area and advises accordingly. Navigate wage and hour issues related to hourly employees. Analyze and advise concerning classifications of employees as exempt/non-exempt and as independent contractors. Assist with employee benefits and regulatory requirements (e.g., ACA compliance). Manage and/or conduct internal investigations of employee complaints. Review and update current employment-related templates and assist in the drafting of new agreement templates, as needed. Assist with creating, drafting, and updating employment policies and processes. Identify and advise concerning onboarding, inclusive of background checks, offer letters, employment agreements, confidentiality agreements, and other new hire documentation. Liaise with regulatory and compliance counsel to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Manage outside counsel on various matters, including employment litigation, as necessary to accomplish legal and compliance objectives. Respond to and/or manage charges/complaints with federal and state agencies. Assist with employment-related due diligence for transactions, including reviewing NDAs, employment agreements, option award agreements, and other documents as needed. Advocates Enova's interests in relevant matters.

The candidate should have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and admittance in good standing with at least one state bar. Must have experience at a law firm and as in-house counsel. Experience working directly with business partners is needed. The ability to analyze state, federal, and international law and provide detailed recommendations to business partners is required. Be friendly, approachable, and able to be a trusted advisor to both the HR team and the executive team on issues related to employment law. Must have a good sense of judgment along with the ability to assist the company in making difficult decisions. Be proactive looking for ways to improve process and policy. Be comfortable navigating issues surrounding both hourly and salaried employees. Have strong negotiation and drafting skills. Must have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Must have good research and organizational skills. Have excellent communication skills. Be a team player - willing to assist with overflow work in other areas of the legal team as needed. Must have the capability to analyze problems and craft a solutions-oriented approach. Must have the ability to engage individuals and teams to ensure timely project completion. The capacity and flexibility to develop new areas of expertise and the confidence to quickly learn and develop independence in key practice areas are essential. Must have an interest in developing an in-depth understanding of consumer financial services and industry.
