Data Privacy Attorney The candidate will provides practical and timely counseling to the business related to data privacy. Evaluates company policies, practices and projects and works to develop solutions aimed at minimizing data privacy-related risk. Stays up-to-date regarding developments related to data privacy legal issues and tracks changes in data privacy laws and regulations. Escalates issues to leadership, as appropriate. Assist in analyzing current company procedures and in identifying best practices. Interact with various internal and external parties involved in the legal process. Assist with preparation and analysis of data to identify exposures and risks. Support strategies for reducing costs and transferring risk. Perform all assigned tasks accurately, efficiently, timely and within Aldi administrative policy and procedures. Act and decide independently within the delegated area of responsibility. Work in a manner that is consistent with the policies and procedures as outlined in the office employee handbook. Provide proactive analysis of current projects and analytical review of reported results. Communicate and inform leader of issues, status and results of assigned tasks in a timely fashion. Maintain professional skills through research, continuing education and training. Serve as backup to other members of the team. Exhibit attention to detail and the ability to develop improved procedures and processes. Employ problem solving techniques. Perform special projects as requested. Maintain confidentiality of legal records and company information. Collaborates and Cooperates with Team: Commits to and supports a collaborative and high-performing working environment with peers and managers. Drives for Success: Seizes opportunities and proactively takes concrete actions to complete tasks. Goes the extra mile and persistently overcomes obstacles to improve outputs. Focuses on the Customer: Seeks to understand underlying customer needs to create value. Drives the team to maintain focus on customers. Focuses on Quality: Takes an efficient, analytical approach to solve problems or produce outputs in an accurate and timely manner. Ensures quality and accuracy of results. Plans and Prioritizes: Sets priorities and organizes information in order to efficiently and effectively get the job done. Knowledge of data privacy laws including state and federal consumer protection and privacy laws (ex. CCPA) and global privacy laws including GDPR. Knowledge of and ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Ability in analyzing and presenting complex data. Knowledge of and ability to interpret and/or apply Aldi administrative policies and procedures. Knowledge and understanding of data privacy issues related to vendor agreements. Skill in verbal and written communication. Ability to give attention to detail; employ strong planning and organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and within a team environment. Ability to prioritize and multi-task. Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with all business partners. Knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices. Ability to think critically, solve problems, plan and organize work flow, and embrace new challenges. Ability to analyze a situation to make decisions and resolve complex issues; apply creative solutions which result in the best outcome for Aldi. Skill in reviewing files to determine accuracy and completeness. Bachelor's Degree and J.D. required. A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience either in a law firm or corporate legal department preferred. Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge. Overall broad legal knowledge of data privacy law required; experience with data privacy issues facing consumer retail organizations is a plus.
