Corporate Compliance Counsel The candidate will advise and provide compliance and legal support to in-house clients on compliance, legal and regulatory issues involving company's Business Units. Will assist the Business Unit Chief Compliance Counsel as required on legal and risk management issues associated with the BU business, products, and services. Assist the Business Unit Chief Compliance Counsel in implementing and enhancing the compliance program. Advise company personnel regarding compliance and legal matters. Effectively partner with marketing and other personnel across the Business Unit to review and provide guidance on proposed advertising, digital social media engagement and scientific / research materials and other initiatives to help ensure for compliance with applicable laws and company policies. Draft/review, negotiate, and approve commercial transactions as needed to ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies. Support Group legal function initiatives. Develop new and enhance existing compliance-related policies and procedures. Develop and deliver compliance and legal training to employees concerning a variety of topics, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, HIPAA, etc. Conduct investigations of alleged violations of laws, regulations, policies and procedures in close collaboration with other legal, HR and/or internal audit personnel. Identify compliance risk areas through a risk assessment process and other means and implement plans to resolve compliance issues. Design and implement compliance monitoring and testing. The candidate should have a J.D. degree from an accredited law school and be admitted to at least one State Bar in the US. Must have 5-10 years of legal and compliance experience as inhouse counsel or a corporate compliance professional working for a life science and/or health IT company. Should also have 3+ years leadership and management experience. Deep understanding of and experience with providing advice concerning healthcare fraud and abuse laws, including the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute and False Claims Act is required. Prior experience in contract drafting, review and negotiation is needed. Knowledge of general corporate and compliance issues is essential.
