Senior Associate Attorney Editor, Real Estate Duties: Work with Senior Legal Editors to research, draft, edit, update, and maintain state-specific and national real estate resources for the Real Estate Service, with an emphasis on California-specific content. These resources include practice notes, checklists, standard documents, standard clauses, legal updates, and other state-specific and national legal content in accordance with Practical Law's writing style. Stay informed and monitor real estate-related legal developments and legal practice trends in California and nationally with the overarching goal of ensuring timely updates to the content, as needed, in order to ensure our coverage is current, accurate, and relevant. Establish and maintain relationships with external California-based real estate lawyers to find content contributors and to ensure that the real estate content is topical and meets the needs. Develop ideas for new state real estate content with an emphasis on California resources, which are to be published on Practical Law. Maintain and manage internal progress charts and databases.

Qualifications: J.D. required. Must have 5+ years of experience working as a real estate attorney in a law firm or as in-house counsel and general expertise in California real estate practice. Actively licensed to practice in California. Strong academic credentials. Experience in a variety of real estate matters for commercial and residential transactions, with an emphasis on California commercial leasing transactions in particular. Generally, practice experience should include complex commercial real estate transactions, where applicable, in one or more of the following, purchasing and selling of commercial real estate, commercial leasing, including office and retail leasing, commercial real estate finance, including permanent, construction, and revolving credit loans, real estate joint venture transactions, residential real estate transactions, including the acquisition, sale, leasing, and financing of single-family, multi-family, and condominiums, and construction and real estate development. Enthusiasm and ambition, with a desire to improve the efficiency of legal services. A passion for writing and good editing skills, including, very close attention to detail, impressive command of grammar, punctuation, and plain English, and the ability to write about complex legal issues clearly and simply. Be self-motivated with excellent management and organizational skills to effectively track productivity and ensure product development milestones are met. Ability to constantly collaborate with and support team members.
