Contracts Attorney Responsibilities: Drafting and negotiating complex technology contracts related to Chick-fil-A affiliated brands, including, but not limited to, website and app development, hosting services, data analytics, fintech offerings, martech tools, and compliance software. Independently serve as contracts counsel for Chick-fil-A affiliated brands and collaborate on cross-functional teams. Negotiate contract clauses regarding privacy, data security, IP, financial, and franchise laws and regulations. Tracking privacy strategy of affiliated brands to lead negotiations on DPAs and various privacy provisions within contracts. Independently spot legal issues arising in contracts and liaise with legal subject-matter experts, including Privacy, IP, Regulatory, Litigation, Employment, and Real Estate attorneys. Independently spot business issues arising in contracts and liaise with business subject-matter experts, including Tax, Finance, Risk Management, and Information Security. Influencing strategic direction and providing practical, business-oriented solutions to contractual issues. Creation of new technology contract templates along with the continuous improvement of existing templates, playbooks, and forms to evolve with business needs. Working with and managing outside counsel support. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree & JD Degree from an accredited law school. Bar membership in California or bar membership in another state bar with the ability & qualifications to obtain Registered In-House Counsel status in California. 5 years in a law firm, in-house legal department, or a combination of both, handling complex technology transactions. Strong drafting and communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Exhibit sound judgment with an ability to know when to escalate issues to legal or business leadership. Flexibility to quickly pivot and adapt to changing business needs and priorities. Proficient knowledge of privacy laws and regulations. Working knowledge of (or ability to quickly learn) payment & financial rules and regulations.
