Senior Litigation Counsel Responsibilities: Managing an active and varied caseload of litigations, appeals, and other adversarial proceedings, likely to include commercial contract disputes, patent litigations, product liability cases, and/or state and federal government regulatory actions/investigations; Advising on complex substantive and procedural legal issues arising during the course of such matters; Providing advice and risk analysis to business clients and legal department colleagues on a range of pre-litigation issues; Managing outside counsel on complex and high-stakes matters or projects; Developing strategies to avoid or resolve regional, national and international disputes, including negotiating license agreements and settlements; Counseling on multi-jurisdictional litigations or other proceedings, including coordinating with counterparts in US and around the world; Partnering with representatives of other groups and departments on litigations and investigations; Serving as a thought leader for the litigation group in one or more substantive areas; Contributing to cross-functional or departmental projects and teams; Mentoring and supervising junior attorneys, paralegals, contract associates or others on litigation projects; Working effectively in teams and with a cross-section of stakeholders within the organization.

Qualifications: JD Degree with Bar admission and 8+ years ? experience, with extensive experience in directly managing complex adversarial matters in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related life science industry. Must be admitted to a State bar or the District of Columbia bar. Excellent academic credentials required. Substantive expertise in one or more of the following areas preferred: government investigations/False Claims Act, antitrust, product liability, or patent litigation. Experience being part of a trial team preferred. A degree (undergraduate or graduate) in a biological science or chemistry a plus, but is not required for this position. Demonstrated experience in resolving challenging legal issues and proven ability to deliver sound, clear, practical legal advice in a business setting. Superior negotiation skills. Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills. Outstanding writing and communication skills, both verbal and written. Superior client-relations skills. Adaptive and Results-Oriented.
