Counsel - Employment and Compliance Duties: Provide legal advice to all businesses operating in North America on Employment issues. Review policies and procedures for needed changes to comply with local laws; Develop training on employment law topics; Monitor employment laws and regulations and educate legal and business colleagues on noteworthy developments; Represent the company in administrative proceedings (e.g. EEOC charges); Manage implementation of global compliance programs in North America; Develop country specific compliance rules where needed; Educate workforce on Company compliance-related rules throughout North America (e.g. training, communications programming). Support North American Integrity & Compliance Governance Committee.

Qualifications: JD degree from an accredited law school with admission to at least one state bar and eligible for admission as an in-house lawyer in Tennessee. 5-7 years of relevant working experience at a major law firm or a multi-national corporation. First rate knowledge of Employment laws and regulations in the US. Some familiarity with comparable laws and regulations in Canada and Mexico would be helpful. Some experience with Compliance would be helpful but must be willing to learn. Top-level analytical, counseling, negotiating, communication and interpersonal skills with sound legal and ethical judgment. Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team of business personnel, internal and external legal and technical consultants and to coordinate negotiations with government agencies and private parties. The ability to work as a team member across the region and the world
