Senior Counsel, Labor & Employment Responsibilities: Manages and provides counsel regarding employment claims through resolution and participates in and influences the decision-making process with appropriate clients and internal stakeholders, based on candidate s experience. Responds to EEOC complaints, including coordinating the investigation of said claim and the preparation and filing of Zebra s Position Paper. Supervises, manages, and evaluates outside counsel on employment-related matters. Reviews proposed employee separations and provides advice to HR managers and supervisors on potential risks associated with separations and other job actions. Establishes and maintains relationships, credibility and trust with HR professionals, internal stakeholders, legal team members and other colleagues. Advises HR professionals and business leaders on legal issues arising from employee medical conditions that impact ability to work. Assesses legal risks and recommends approaches to manage employee medical leave and accommodation requests. Acts as legal counsel on employee reviews and investigations. Participates in the review of company policies and programs related to employee matters for potential legal risk and provides recommended updates and revisions. Reviews employee compensation programs and other programs annually (such as, leave policies, severance plans, diversity programs) for compliance and legal risk. Provide strategic guidance, legal support and counseling for Zebra s annual and long-term incentive plans, including deferred compensation plans, severance plans sales incentive plans and other compensation plans. Prepares and presents proactive training to HR employees, managers and company employees on various employment-related legal topics. Perform other tasks as assigned from time to time by the Assistant General Counsel.

Qualifications: Requires JD Degree from an accredited law school. Must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing in Illinois. During employment, must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice. Must have 7+ years of substantive labor and employment experience with a corporate legal department or a nationally recognized law firm, preferably representing management in all types of employment-related legal matters. Knowledge of North America Labor and Employment laws and regulations(Corporate preferred), with experience handling specific employment law matters, including investigations, non-competes, non-solicitations, Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, THRA, FLSA and EEOC disputes. Employment counseling and claim handling experience in an in-house setting, with trial experience defending employment claims and litigation preferred. Good communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills within and across departments, as well as externally; and must be proactive in providing counsel to internal clients with the ability to work collaboratively. Preferred Qualifications: International Labor and Employment nice to have. Experience with Labor and Employment laws in the following states highly preferred: CA,MA, IL, NY.
