Commercial & Corporate Counsel Duties: Help to manage contract management/legal matter management systems. Provide support regarding a broad range of third-party vendor and customer contracts. Support continuous improvements of forms, policies, and processes to help streamline, and simplify the contracting processes. Draft and maintain knowledge resources, develop marketing best practices, and conduct related compliance trainings. Keep up to date on the latest developments in applicable laws, regulations, and industry trends. Support HR with employee related matters. Partner with sales, product, operations and engineering teams by providing guidance on a wide range of legal issues, including key commercial terms, IP, privacy laws and regulations. Communicate with management and manage outside counsel as needed. Qualifications: JD degree from an accredited law school required. Active Bar membership and in good standing in a U.S. state, preferably California. 4-5 years with a combination of experience as a practicing lawyer with a well-regarded law firm and experience providing advice to a high technology company. Experience with product counseling, intellectual property, and demonstrated comfort as a generalist through broad-ranging legal domains. Education and/or previous experience in lending or mortgage related fields Strong desire to provide leadership to generate support and guide cross-functional teams in achieving goals. Experience managing outside counsel in a cost-effective manner. Strong drafting skills (e.g. purchase and sales terms, and supplier agreements). Strong interest for and/or experience in scaling legal operations, developing and implementing policy, and building systems and processes across rapidly growing organization. Demonstrated experience managing and negotiating transactions customer purchase agreements, supplier and other strategic alliances. Ability to lead and inspire, to work independently and to be a team player.
