Privacy Counsel

Privacy Counsel The candidate will be identifying, creating and implementing best practices around data privacy. Providing global privacy legal advice and privacy input on business projects and initiatives. Providing advice regarding the implications of new laws substantially impacting the Company's business. Working cross-functionally ensure that privacy policies and procedures are up to date and being followed. Supporting cross-company global projects involving personal information. Conducting privacy impact assessments and monitoring risk mitigation measures. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating legal documents (MSA, SOW, DPA etc) for customers and third-party agreements to include privacy controls, data transfer agreements, and privacy notices and policies. Providing privacy subject matter expertise to others as they negotiate a variety of agreements with our customers, partners and vendors. Maintaining updated templates and playbooks on privacy agreements as well as cybersecurity standards applicable to the delivery of products and services. Identifying privacy training needs of Company personnel; develops and delivers training through various mechanisms including written materials, classroom and staff presentations.

The candidate should do completion of law school with a J.D. degree and admission to the Bar of at least one jurisdiction in the United States required. Should have 4-7 years of experience as a practicing attorney. Should have knowledge and understanding of privacy law, including US and European data protection law. CIPP/US or CIPP/EU certification is preferred. Should have excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to assess risk strategically and help clients find solutions that enable them to mitigate risk while achieving goals, program/project management skills, including the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects.
