IP Transactions Corporate Counsel The candidate should have a J.D. degree and membership in good standing in at least one State Bar is required. Should have 5+ years of experience as a transactional attorney, with a significant portion of that experience in IP and technology. Should preferably have experience with partnerships between industry and universities or research institutions, experience with open source licensing and counseling, IP policy development, and standards, passion for and understanding of a wide variety of technology areas. Should have a science, computer science, or engineering degree. Should have demonstrated ability to develop and maintain business processes that are right-sized for the task, effective oral and written communication skills in communicating business and legal issues to a wide variety of audiences, e.g., developers, engineers, business leaders, and legal professionals, at all levels of the organization, excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines. Should give sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. Should have common sense, plays well with others, and a good sense of humor.
