Insurance And Claims Counsel

Insurance and Claims Counsel Duties: Analyze claims that come in to determine appropriate policies for reporting, and expected coverage. Facilitate productive communication between policy-holder clients and insurers. Advocate for favorable and fair outcomes and recovery for clients. Provide guidance and advice to the broking team on policy and endorsement language and claims implications for underwriting. Track claims trends and contributes to internal and/or external communications on relevant claim topics. Participate in local and national practice meetings and contribute to the development of claim practice. Perform other responsibilities and duties as needed.

Qualifications: Attorney with 5+ years of experience. Familiarity with property & casualty insurance, preferably financial and/or professional lines. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Demonstrated analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Good negotiating skills. Ability to collaborate and act independently. Ability to attend company, department, and team meetings as required, including industry training sessions. Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures, proactively protecting the confidentiality of Client and company information. Ability to efficiently organize work and manage time in order to meet deadlines. Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft. Ability to use office equipment such as a computer, keyboard, calculator, photocopier, and facsimile machine. Ability to work on a computer for a prolonged amount of time. Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed.
