Associate Corporate Counsel

Associate Corporate Counsel The candidate structures, drafts, and negotiates complex commercial agreements and contracts related to the air, ocean, and road transport business. Engages in legal work within a wide array of areas including litigation management, corporate governance, transportation law, and regulatory compliance. Advises executives within the company and works alongside employees in the Americas business units in addition to corporate support functions. Advises executive team on contract statuses and legal risks in new commercial ventures. Manages various projects and deadlines. Maintains strong working knowledge of transportation legislative changes that may affect the company, customers, and/or affiliates. Performs pre-litigation work to minimize risks and maximize legal rights. Effectively communicates legal risks with executive staff. Other duties as required and assigned.

The candidate must be able to practice law in at least one State. Must have 3 years of legal experience as a transactional attorney, preferably with experience in commercial transactions with experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts. Transportation law experience in trucking, freight forwarding, brokerage, and/or customs business is desired. Be PC literate with a command of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once. Superior problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills are required. Must have the ability to provide clear and direct communications both verbally and in written form. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage own work is essential. Be self-motivated and able to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Have the ability to read and interpret documents such as corporate policies, safety rules, and procedural documents, write detailed reports and correspondence, apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, as well as to perform duties using project management principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
