Senior Corporate Counsel, Employment Law Responsibilities: Provide day to day counseling and support to HR Business Partners and managers across a broad spectrum of areas including employee relations, leaves of absence, disability accommodations, discipline/terminations, restrictive covenants, affirmative action plans, FLSA classifications, independent contractors, international employment law matters, and employment issues related to COVID-19 and remote working. Manage legal risks and provide solutions for resolving employment disputes. Monitor employment law developments and evolving best practices and provide updates when needed; work with business partners to implement policy changes and integrate new procedures. Review and advise on commercial agreements for vendors hired by HR partners. Draft and revise employment agreements, severance agreements, and handbook policies. Engage in pre-litigation discussions with opposing counsel to resolve potential claims. Assist in managing outside counsel on litigation matters.

Minimum Qualifications: J.D. Degree. Membership in at least one State Bar. 5+ years of experience in advising and counseling clients on employment matters. Knowledge and experience in drafting and negotiating a wide range of agreements. Ability to draft and revise agreements. Strong decision-making ability and a solutions-oriented approach. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal clients. Superior analytical and communication skills. Desire to work on a wide variety of matters, including those outside of subject-matter expertise. Ability to exercise good judgment and work independently without close supervision. Willingness to take the initiative and follow through on projects. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with California and international employment law issues. In-house legal department experience. MS Office Suite and Google Docs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Collaboration Tools: Google Suite, Slack.
