Counsel, Production Contracts The candidate will draft and negotiate employment agreements for line producers/unit production managers, casting directors, directors of photography, costume designers, production designers, editors and consultants. Draft and negotiate location agreements, visual/special effects agreements, stage and production office lease agreements, vendor agreements, aircraft rental agreements, watercraft vessel agreements and equipment lease agreements. Draft and negotiate production integration agreements for products used as props and/or set dressing. Draft and negotiate clip license agreements. Draft cease and desist letters. Draft and prepare chain-of-title letters, production service agreements, affidavits and copyright assignment agreements in connection with tax credit applications. Draft responses to legal claims. Respond to unsolicited submissions. Advise productions, other members of the legal department and other departments regarding contract issues, intellectual property issues, risk management, policies and procedures and guild requirements. The candidate should have a Juris Doctorate degree. Should have 2+ years of experience drafting and negotiating contracts. Should have excellent drafting skills and the ability to work quickly, independently and accurately. Should act with diplomacy and good legal judgment to meet the time-sensitive demands. The ability to multi-task and prioritize is essential. Should have excellent interpersonal skills to form strong working relationships with production members, other department members and members of Business Affairs.
