Corporate Counsel The candidate will intimately understand real estate transactions/operations. Produce, refine, strategize and govern real estate transaction and investment documents including LOIs, PSAs, operating agreements, PPMs, situational contracts/agreements, joint venture, fund and partnership structures/docs. Produce, refine, strategize and govern organizational contracts and agreements with vendors, internal and external contractors and vendors. Understand, cultivate and manage business partnerships with divisional leaders within the organization. Create and maintain critical business relationships with the senior executive team. Create, facilitate and recalibrate both legal and business strategies/solutions in a collaborative way. Create, facilitate and recalibrate both legal and business negotiations with contractors, real estate buyers, sellers, investors and vendors. Govern, oversee and provide guidance to the business as it relates to the following: compliance, risk management, laws & regulations, insurance claims, business litigation and multifamily property litigation. Negotiate, draft, or review corporate governance, purchase and sale agreements, contracts and financing documents. Oversee legal issues including ongoing ventures, property acquisitions, and corporate governance. Manage outside counsel related to acquisitions, balancing cost and effectiveness in the delivery of legal services. Anticipate and mitigate potential legal problems within the organization, providing relevant advice to senior leadership and stakeholders. Collaborate and communicate effectively with paralegal regarding issues that impact the operations of the business. Supervise paralegals with regard to related functions. Additional assignments as requested.

The candidate should have a J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Should preferably have 5+ years of practice in a law firm or in-house with a practice concentration in real estate, finance, and commercial areas. Attorney's license must be current, active and in good standing. Continuing education requirements must be current. Should be detail-oriented, organized, efficient and resourceful with strong follow-through skills. Should have excellent written, verbal and analytical skills, with an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way and to orchestrate plans to resolve issues and mitigate risks, strong negotiation skills and ability to interact with legal and business leaders internally and externally, hands-on, team-oriented approach with flexibility and positive attitude, superior contract drafting and verbal communication skills, the acumen to effectively balance compliance with the law against business goals and initiatives. Should be a creative problem solver with the ability to quickly and accurately assess legal risks. Should have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with a customer service attitude, be hard-working and a self-starter with the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines, be process-oriented with desire for constant improvement and development of best practices, strong integrity and commitment to ethics. Must be able to communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team. Must understand and follow company policies, including harassment and complaint procedures.
