Senior Counsel, Employment Law The candidate will be primarily responsible for representing the US Consumer, Operations and Technology, Institutional Clients Group, and Global Functions businesses in all phases of the EEO Charge process, including investigation of claims, drafting position statements and other submissions to a variety of EEO state and federal agencies and the DOL, participating in fact-finding procedures, and where appropriate negotiating resolutions either before or during any conciliation efforts, and developing good working relationships with agency investigators and other personnel. Work closely with the lawyers on the team and report to a Director, Associate General Counsel in the Global Employment Law Center of Excellence. Responsible for internal reporting on the EEO charges, and for developing and training Human Resources on a variety of topics. Manage a small portfolio of litigations/arbitrations, assist Associate General Counsels with their litigation/arbitration dockets, and provide advice and counsel to business partners. Function as the subject matter expert on new state and federal employment laws that may impact the firm's workplace and work on a team to implement any changes that may be needed.

The candidate must have a J.D. degree, Bar Admission with 4 years of professional experience in employment law. Experience with financial institutions is a plus. Must have exercise sound judgment and complete discretion; the ability to join the Global Employment Law Center of Excellence and thus be familiar with the firm's businesses and workplace policies and issues while at the same time continuing to grow and improve his/her skillset; knowledge development and mentoring skills as well as a path to advancement. Should preferably have extensive knowledge of the US Employment, Wage and Hour, and other labor laws; experience with representing clients in the EEO Charge process; excellent communication skills; excellent legal writing skills; and ability to work collaboratively with the Employment Law team and with internal partners.
