Senior In-house / Corporate Legal Counsel The candidate will be part of a global team of in-house attorneys collectively responsible for the global coverage of legal and regulatory matters pertaining to privately offered funds administered by the company's global platform. Provide strategic legal advice on high risk matters and global initiatives. Provide timely legal advice and assistance to the global investor services team which is responsible for processing investor transactions and reporting to investors. Review, interpret, and advise on relevant laws and industry best practices pertaining to issues impacting the investor services team. Advise with respect to special projects and initiatives undertaken by the investor services team. Provide timely legal advice and assistance on matters related to global AML laws applicable to private funds. Review, interpret, and advise on relevant laws and industry best practices pertaining to AML. Advise with respect to select special projects arising from the administration of the global AML program. Provide support as a subject matter expert and knowledge-sharing within the legal team. Oversee compliance with the regulatory reporting and corporate governance obligations of the Cayman and Bermuda subsidiaries of the company. Organize and oversee Board meetings to review relevant KPI and internal reporting requirements. Timely report/escalate to senior management to ensure they are kept abreast of all matters of legal and regulatory risk. Assist with responses to any regulatory exams and other relevant inquiries and internal audits. Advise on impact to the business of contemplated and proposed laws, rules and regulations. Participate on internal governance committees. The candidate should be licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in the state/jurisdiction in which the position is based or otherwise in compliance with the in-house counsel registration rules of that state/jurisdiction. Must be an experienced attorney, ideally having 7-10 years of prior relevant work experience involving the administration or regulation of private funds. Familiarity with offshore (Cayman, Bermuda) private fund regulations and AML requirements is a requirement. Proven leadership capability and change agility are essential. Experience working for or with an international company is preferred. Must have experience in the areas of private fund regulation and compliance with both US and offshore regulations impacting private funds and their service providers including applicable AML laws.
