Counsel - Compliance

Counsel - Compliance The candidate will be drafting, evaluating, revising, and implementing compliance policies and procedures along with developing and delivering training to our employees. Will maintain a conflict of interest disclosure process. Participate in periodic compliance risk assessment process and draft reports and recommended improvements. Participation and support of Albertsons Compliance Committee. Conduct compliance monitoring activities and recommend enhancements to improve effectiveness. Assist with the management of the ethics hotline and conduct or manage internal investigations as needed. Assist with the development and implementation of the Albertsons third-party due diligence program. Drives and promotes our culture of ethics and compliance across Albertsons. Exercise sound legal judgment and act as a key partner for internal business stakeholders; act independently and prioritize tasks while considering relevant risk, business, and objectives. Travel may be required to support the local and out-of-state clients.

The candidate should have a JD degree from an accredited law school with proven academic success. Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the Bar of any state that enables admission to practice as in-house counsel. Must have 3+ years of compliance program experience in a public company preferably with a retail-focused company, with exposure to key concepts in modern compliance and ethics programs. In-house experience preferred.
