Associate General Counsel, Privacy Policies

Associate General Counsel, Privacy Policies The candidate will lead on drafting and oversee the development and management of Firms (and its affiliates') privacy policies and notices across the full range of Firms different products and maintain Firms ongoing transparency and privacy-by-design approach. Will maintain subject matter expertise in areas of privacy and data protection laws (including state and federal consumer protection and privacy laws, GDPR and other global privacy laws) and advise on the impact of the same on Firms business. Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving privacy analysis and compliance with stakeholders across Firms' business, policy, legal, communications, security, and other departments. Develop a regulatory strategy with global privacy regulators in connection with privacy policy updates, new product features and initiatives. Help to develop and conduct general and role-specific privacy training across Firms. Manage internal privacy compliance programs and processes to ensure we meet obligations.

The candidate should have a J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US State Bar. Must have 8+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience. Experience using business judgment and product counseling is needed. Should preferably have experience with global privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially including those relevant for social media, ad tech and Internet companies. Experience with policy development is desired. Experience prioritizing work and providing advice under deadlines is a plus. Experience advancing projects in a multi-stakeholder environment are preferred. Experience with understanding innovative privacy technology and enthusiasm about technology is desired.
