Corporate Counsel - Employment Law Duties: Provide high-quality employment law support to HR, Talent Acquisition, and other client groups, focusing primarily on the US and Canada with exposure also to Mexico, Colombia, and other countries in Latin America. Advise on all areas of employment law, including as examples: compliance with federal and local laws (ex: FLSA, Title VII, ADA, FCRA), recruitment and hiring, compensation structures, restrictive covenants, contingent workers, leaves of absences and accommodations, investigations, discipline, terminations, and another day to day issues. Support expansion into new geographies by identifying threshold requirements and potential obstacles for hiring, and creating new employment agreements, policies, etc., that align both with business expectations and local laws. Manage litigation by overseeing position and strategy, external counsel, and spend. Review commercial agreements in the HR space or which involve employee-centric terms. Proactively author and maintain country-specific Handbooks and other HR/employee-related policies, training, and templates. Stay abreast of the ever-changing employment law landscape and corresponding industry trends. Establish strong and effective working relationships with business partners in various disciplines. Coordinate with internal and external subject matter experts, including external counsel.

Qualifications: JD from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials. Good standing with at least one State Bar. Must have 3+ years practicing employment law at a top firm or comparable in-house environment involving both counseling and litigation. Multi-state and/or country experience is a plus. Expertise in building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal business clients. A mix of counseling and litigation experience is a plus. Privacy experience, such as related to CCPA, and other state and federal frameworks is a plus. Strong written and oral communication skills, especially when explaining complex legal issues to business clients. Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus. Sound and practical business judgment. Responsive and friendly, service-oriented can-do  attitude. Flexible team player, willing to work on a variety of matters. The ability to liaise with senior managers and proactively influence where appropriate. The ability to organize, prioritize and manage numerous projects under deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding work environment. The ability to provide quick and efficient services with a strong work ethic.
