AVP, Privacy Counsel The candidate represents the Company's interests in privacy matters. Handles legal aspects of insurance regulatory matters pertaining to Privacy and Information Security. Provides legal support to designated business units, manages workflow from and relationships with all levels of management of each unit. Prepares legally binding documents; drafts negotiates and develops complex contracts and forms with customers and vendors. May manage and develop a small team of attorneys and support personnel to assure that excellent, timely and business-sensitive legal support is provided to the corporation and to business clients, in furtherance of business goals and priorities. Monitors and keeps the legal management team apprised of and solicits their input as appropriate on significant legal issues. Analyzes and formulates the company's position on legislation/regulations. Identifies law-related training needs of Company personnel; develops and delivers training through various mechanisms including written materials, classroom and staff presentations. Ensures that all business clients give appropriate attention to the Code of Conduct. The candidate should have a J.D. (law degree) plus admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction. Should have 5+ years of relevant experience in a business, corporate or another legal environment. Knowledge of the state, federal, and global (e.g. GDPR) regulatory environment, including compliance requirements and processes. Demonstrated leadership qualities including the ability to build effective working relationships with key constituents across the Enterprise. Insurance product knowledge preferred. IAPP certification preferred. Strong leadership skills, including strategic planning and project management, are preferred. Strong people and change management skills are preferred. The ability to understand multiple technology applications is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Job Posting End Date: October 31, 2021.
