Legal Counsel Duties: Shape and execute s legal strategy for identifying, valuing, and protecting IP rights in technical innovations, in partnership with R&D stakeholders and in accordance with s strategic and competitive positions. Directly support business units to harvest invention disclosures, direct outside counsel in prosecuting patents, stay abreast of technological developments, perform landscape analyses and clearances, and advise on appropriate protection strategies. Work with a team of IP engineers on s R&D team to implement s global program for identifying and protecting technological IP assets. Support other members of Legal team in advising on IP-related issues in litigations, transactions and product development. Develop playbooks and processes for advising partners on issues relating to IP clearance, protection and enforcement. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree strongly preferred. Must have 5+ years of experience as a patent attorney at a law firm or in-house legal department. Extensive knowledge of U.S. and EU patent and trade secret laws, and prosecution processes. Experience prosecuting patents in at least one of the following areas: machine learning, media streaming, online advertising. Experience analyzing patent claims and performing product analyses. Experience working with IP docketing and analytics platforms, as well as document management and filing systems. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience in performing IP diligence and negotiating and drafting tech transfer agreements a plus. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong project management experience. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to partner with employees of all levels throughout the organization and coordinate cross-functional projects across multiple teams. A demonstrated passion for IP. Creative mind and collaborative spirit, with the ability to provide guidance that is sensitive both to legal and business requirements. The ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects in fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
