Corporate Counsel The candidate reports to Campari's head of legal for the United States (Managing Counsel) and covers a variety of matters, with a special emphasis on contracts and trade practices compliance for our sales, marketing, and channel & customer marketing teams. Work with and advise internal clients at different levels within the organization and in different departments. Acts as primary legal support for the Sales, Marketing, and Channel & Customer Marketing departments for most of their legal needs, providing day-to-day advice on a wide variety of topics. Reviews, drafts, and negotiates various contracts, including for marketing services, sponsorships, joint promotions, vendor services, professional and consulting services, supply chain and logistics, etc. Researches and keeps abreast of changing legal and policy issues concerning the alcohol beverage industry, as well as general in-house issues such as advertising, social and digital media, amongst other topics. Supports Managing Counsel on various internal and external projects and initiatives, including providing training to internal stakeholders. Drafts wrote documents for internal and external communications. Attends and actively participates in meetings, both in-person and virtually. Necessary business travel is estimated at 10-15%. Spends extensive time reading, reviewing, and interpreting written materials from a variety of online, paper, and other reference sources. Should have Juris Doctor Degree. Admission to NY State Bar or CA State Bar in good standing. Should have 4 years of experience as a practicing attorney with a well-recognized law firm, preferably in litigation matters. Prior in-house experience is a plus. Superior written and oral communication skills. Customer service orientation with the ability to provide pragmatic and creative legal solutions within a business context. Should have effective time management skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-changing, ambiguous, and demanding environment. Creative, analytical aptitude coupled with strong commonsense judgment skills. Should have the ability to work together, with others across all boundaries to reach common objectives and extraordinary results; make effective recommendations balancing market, product, financial, and organizational issues; see and understand the larger strategic landscape; prioritize amongst many competing tasks and stakeholders; discern key facts and issues from interviews and written materials.
