Corporate Insurance Counsel Duties: Help uphold high ethical and corporate standards, as well as defend our intellectual property. Help provide legal support for all products and businesses across the globe. Working for a company that invents entire categories and industries means be challenged to creatively apply deep legal expertise to rare and often unexplored aspects of the law. Provide the critical support needed worldwide for all products, services and businesses. Making the best products on the planet. Assisting various business units (including Apple's Original Content teams), legal groups and Risk Management in insurance, risk management and risk allocation matters. Reviewing and negotiating insurance, indemnity and related risk allocation provisions in a broad variety of commercial transactions on a global basis; developing training and education tools for use by internal groups in relation to the foregoing; and engaging in risk analysis discussions with business units and proactively suggesting methods within the construct of a contract to protect the interests of Apple that go beyond insurance limits and indemnity provisions. Liaising with outside counsel when necessary, including reviewing the engagement, work product and associated billings. Provide practical legal and business advice with regard to a wide variety of legal issues that arise in the context of commercial, entertainment and risk management matters; quickly identify, analyze and propose solutions to legal and business issues; partner with business clients to support business objectives in a manner consistent with applicable law and corporate risk tolerance; and be a strong team player who is proactive, detail oriented, and able to constantly prioritize while handling multiple tasks. Qualifications: JD and admission to at least one US state bar. 5-7 years of risk management and commercial contract legal experience to join its legal team. Experience in the entertainment industry is highly preferred. Both law firm and in-house (public company) experience is preferred. Experience at a multi-national insurance broker providing contracts support to multinational companies will be considered. Strong background in both insurance interpretation and coverage issues as well as drafting and negotiating risk allocation provisions, including insurance, indemnity, risk of loss, limitations of liability and waiver of subrogation or damages provisions, in a wide variety of commercial, construction services and real estate agreements.
