Privacy Attorney Responsibilities: Provide legal advice regarding privacy compliance requirements and opportunities for improvement of privacy policies and procedures. Collaborate with partners in legal, compliance, IT, and the global teams to proactively address risks, recommend solutions, and ensure compliance with regulations unique to each business across our division. Advise internal clients directly, and provide guidance and practical solutions for data security and privacy matters. Coordinate with divisional leadership to identify and minimize data privacy and cybersecurity risks and drive the implementation of initiatives across the company. Manage breach response, contract drafting/negotiation of privacy security related provisions and working closely with BISO in addition to CISO. Develop data sharing strategies and policies. Engaging with data protection authorities and policymakers to maintain sustainable, scalable, and global approaches to sophisticated data privacy protection needs. Work closely with Gallagher's Chief Privacy Officer and Chief Information Security Officer to continually assess and refine Gallagher's incident response plan. Ensure appropriate levels of data privacy awareness and accountability across the organization. Serve as a subject matter authority on privacy and security-related developments, industry activities, and emerging trends relating to Gallagher's global business. Assist the Compliance team with implementation and monitoring of Gallagher's global compliance program.

Qualifications: Law degree and 5 years related experience required. Substantive data protection and data privacy experience and an in-depth knowledge of Canadian, U.S. and EU privacy statutes ? including GDPR, PIPEDA, and the Privacy Act. Professional security management certification (CISSP, CISM, CISA). Knowledge of relevant guidelines and regulations (PCI, SOX, HIPAA, and PII). Strong public speaking and presentation skills. Must be willing to submit to a background investigation; any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation. Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States. For U.S. employment opportunities, Gallagher hires U.S. citizens, permanent residents, asylees, refugees, and temporary residents. Temporary residence does not include those with non-immigrant work authorization (F, J, H or L visas), such as students in practical training status. Exceptions to these requirements will be determined based on shortage of qualified candidates with a particular skill. Gallagher will require proof of work authorization. Must be willing to execute Gallagher's Employee Agreement or Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement, which require, among other things, post-employment obligations relating to non-solicitation, confidentiality and non-disclosure.
