Corporate Counsel Duties: Work closely with our internal Business Development, Partner Success, CPG, and Marketing teams to manage renewals and draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements. Develop and negotiate novel commercial agreements. Be organized and demonstrate the ability to balance, triage, and manage multiple time-sensitive tasks effectively and independently. Work effectively and collaboratively with a growing legal team, as well as cross-functionally with members at all levels of the organization. Maintain and update our contract management system. Communicate via in-person, video, or phone as appropriate and as required. Influence team members of all levels within the Shipt organization by identifying and analyzing options that mitigate risk while driving business priorities. Tailor messages for the appropriate audience and provide quick-turn advice that facilitates risk-based and informed decisions. Communicate with external business partners to understand their needs. Be a strong advocate for Shipt in contract negotiations with partners and vendors. Maintain and update the contract management system. Develop and/or manage contracts policy and related training. Qualifications: J.D. or equivalent from an ABA-accredited law school and active membership in at least one state Bar. 5+ years at a law firm or in-house capacity serving clients in commercial and technology matters. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong ability to establish effectively, trusted team and client relationships. Strong team player who is adaptable and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to strike a sensible and practical balance between legal risks and business goals. Respects, appreciates, and is curious about differences related to working with others; committed to developing an inclusive team. Possess strong analytical skills, good business acumen, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills. Exercises sound judgment and render advice in an environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: Prior in-house experience at a tech company or startup. Experience with Ironclad or other contract management tools. MBA or 1-2 years of business experience.
