Director, Associate General Counsel, Privacy & Data Governance Responsibilities: Create and scale data privacy program, with a focus on data privacy compliance and protection, governance and ethics. Annually define, drive data governance and privacy organization to successfully implement, and communicate data governance and privacy legal objectives. Together with business and LRC team members, develop a roadmap of programs designed to efficiently structure data collection, minimize data exposure, promote a privacy and data-protection mindset, and properly evaluate risks with respect to the provision of personal data to third-party vendors. Provide quarterly updates to Core Leadership Team and biweekly updates to the Head of Legal, Risk and Compliance on Data Governance and Privacy status. Provide strategic legal privacy and data expertise to guide and review product roadmaps and implementations to ensure compliance with internal policies, and contractual and regulatory obligations. Represent legal as data governance voting member to provide data risk analysis, guidance, and risk acceptance thresholds. Partner cross-functionally with leaders in business units, marketing organization, information technology, PX, and compliance, and legal teams to drive awareness of, and compliance with, privacy and data governance requirements. Implement privacy policies and controls and oversee ongoing compliance. Oversee and handle incoming and outgoing consumer privacy requests, including working across organization to delete and/or assemble consumer-specific information and responding by appropriate deadlines. Create content and lead training and education efforts on privacy and data security policies in coordination with legal team. Implement Privacy-By-Design strategies for technologies, products, and services to drive growth and consumer-oriented solutions. Work closely with the risk, legal and IT security teams to represent legal on data incident response efforts. Remain informed on changing privacy landscape by monitoring relevant legislation and regulation across various jurisdictions. Negotiate high profile data agreements with data suppliers and clients. Strategically lead market data license negotiation team, on ongoing basis, to obtain and maintain appropriate data rights to scale for future product roadmap, minimize costs and overhead, and mitigate risk. Negotiate high profile data agreements with data aggregators, major financial institutions, data suppliers and clients as applicable. Define and educate legal and procurement teams on preferred data terms and conditions. Represent the LRC organization in data strategy and consult directly with lawyers and business leaders throughout the company, as well as work directly with architects and product to help shape the development of innovative new products and services. Lead a team of individuals who manage and work with InfoSec and business to facilitate the third-party approval process and data access agreement management. Partner with product teams, sales operations, technology operations, InfoSec and other stakeholder teams to ensure agreements are consistent with internal corporate policies and processes. Work with internal business constituents throughout the customer lifecycle to ensure customer success and protection of the Company. Assist in preparation for Board and committee meetings, in privacy and data risk management functions. Monitor and evaluate privacy and data commitments and obligations of Company.

Requirements: JD Degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Member in good standing to the bar of one or more states (preferably Pennsylvania, Delaware, New York or California). Certified IAPP privacy expert (CIPP-US and either CIPM or CIPT). 10+ years experience within legal privacy and/or data technology in financial institutions or related financial services industry. Experience supporting a data governance and privacy program is required, as is experience as a people manager. Demonstrate an understanding of business risk, as well as the ability to work with highly complex legal issues. Communicate effectively on legal matters with legal and non-legal professionals at all levels of management and utilize analytical skills to offer a consultative approach to your work. Previous experience of agile working methodologies is also desirable. 5 years prior management experience. Proven ability to exercise good judgment evidenced by anticipating legal risks, effective communication, and a high degree of ethics and integrity. Strong practical experience in drafting and negotiating transactions with a particular focus on software, software-as-a-service and related technology fields. Ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to a wide audience of stakeholders within. Experience managing others, especially with regard to career progression and meeting expectations/demands. Strong drafting skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to improve forms and work off of other party's paper. Effective communication in person, in groups, over email and in more formal documentation. Demonstrate an ability to creatively solve problems in a manner consistent with culture and ethics. Ability to cooperate and work effectively with a team on a diverse set of topics. Detail-oriented with ability to prioritize duties and delegate where necessary. Experience in or exposure to issues affecting the financial services field is preferred.
