Senior Counsel - Labor and Employment The candidate will be a key member of the Legal team responsible for providing advice and counsel on employment matters covering the Americas region (US, Canada, and a number of countries in LATAM) and will work with Human Resources, business leaders, other key stakeholders, and outside counsel to fulfill the Labor and Employment team s objectives of providing business-oriented legal strategies and risk-aligned solutions that drive success. Will initially work on a hybrid basis (e.g., some days in one of firm's offices and some remotely), and will report to the Senior Assistant General Counsel, Employment Law. Handling day-to-day employment matters, including in connection with hiring, performance management and terminations. Drafting employment-related documents, including contracts, severance agreements, and offer letters. Managing employment law-related projects, including process reviews, policy creation, implementation, and updates, and creation, delivery and/or oversight of training programs, particularly to ensure multi-jurisdictional regulatory compliance. Handling potential and active litigation, administrative charges, and audits, including investigations and fact development, managing outside counsel and providing appropriate strategic direction. Provide support to internal workplace investigations and as needed, perform such investigations. Provide advice and counsel regarding leaves of absence, workplace accommodations, wage and hour issues, and independent contractor and contingent worker issues. Counsel and stay current on emerging legislative and regulatory changes affecting employment law compliance. Provide support to other members of the Labor and Employment team on firm s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, pay equity compliance, and mergers and acquisitions and related integrations. Counseling on change of control issues and golden parachutes; planning, drafting/updating, negotiating, and/or counseling on a wide variety of cash and equity compensation arrangements, including in executive employment agreements, equity grant letters, and bonus, commission and other incentive plans. Advising on employee benefit plan matters, particularly with regard to profit participation and pension plans; and counseling on the ERISA and Internal Revenue Code (particularly Section 409A) rules that apply to executive compensation programs.

The candidate should have a JD degree from an accredited law school, strong academic credentials, and law license from at least one State Bar association. Must have 5+ years of relevant experience at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house at a large global enterprise. Fluency in Spanish a plus.
