Counsel, Real Estate

Counsel, Real Estate Duties: Draft and negotiate commercial leases including office, retail, food business, retail and warehouse leases. Advise cross-functional partners with regards to real estate development, including zoning laws, building ordinances, construction permits and other land use ordinances. Serve as the primary contact on real estate issues for our Real Estate and Product Teams. Actively engage in a legal function that handles all real estate legal matters, including managing outside counsel responsible for reviewing and negotiating real estate leases.

Qualifications: JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school and member in good standing of at least one state bar (preference for California State Bar membership). Must have 5 years of substantive real estate experience with a corporate/in-house legal department or a nationally recognized law firm. Bonus Points: Experience building real estate legal processes at fast growing technology companies is a major plus. Experience with the on-demand economy. M&A experience.
