Senior Counsel, Litigation And Regulatory

Senior Counsel, Litigation and Regulatory The candidate will advise the Chief Legal Officer and other members of senior management on legal issues relating to litigation and other substantive issues identified above. Enforce rights and interests before court, state, federal and administrative judicial forums and any other courts as necessary. Own and develop legal strategy and direct outside counsel on the Company's portfolio of litigation and pre-litigation matters in a wide range of practice areas. Manage legal risk in a manner that supports and facilitates continued commercial success. Proactively approach all aspects of litigation and regulatory disputes, including discovery, motion practice, witness preparation, trial and appellate strategies, and settlement negotiations. Monitor insurance status of claim; draft insurance coverage correspondence and participate in claims meetings and negotiations. Manage all aspects of outside counsel relationships, including staffing, litigation strategy, work product and budgets. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement frameworks that increase speed and efficiency of Marketing and claim substantiation reviews. Devise scalable processes and procedures to help support a rapidly growing business. Deploy legal project management principles and implement key metrics monitoring to drive efficiencies.

The candidate should have 5+ years of hands-on experience in complex business litigation, in particular, product liability, commercial and employment matters, including trial experience and counseling parties and witnesses in a variety of pre-dispute and dispute resolution contexts. First chair mediation or trial experience a plus. A J.D. degree from a top-tier law school and active membership of good standing in at least one State Bar. Familiarity with consumer product industries and the legal and regulatory environment in which they operate. Corporate/in-house litigation experience is a plus. Ability to manage a large number and variety of mission-critical projects, working independently and often in ambiguous and changing environments. A practical, business-based, and proactive approach to problem-solving. Ability to work as a team player who can effectively work with and manage paralegals, assistants, other lawyers, and business clients cooperatively and efficiently. Demonstrate ability to learn business requirements quickly, analyze legal risks and propose strategic solutions. Recommend and implement best practices and proactive strategies consistent with legal requirements and emerging trends to minimize liability and promote the Company's strategic plan. Highest standards of ethics and professional integrity. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as demonstrated proficiency in working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization. Experience in crisis management and response.
