Senior Corporate Counsel (Data Privacy/Compliance)

Senior Corporate Counsel (Data Privacy/Compliance) Duties: Provide day to day management of all aspects of the Compliance Management System (CMS) ) implementation (anti-trust, anti-bribery, sanctions and data privacy), including program development and operation, taking into account the requirements of both Lidl International and also US specific requirements. Manage risk assessment programs and ensure systematic analysis of existing/ potential compliance risks, as well as ensurring compliance initiatives are being carried out. Supervise the development and delivery of training modules covering complex areas of law and regulation. Ensure training content follows best practice and aligns with the company's strategy to handle various complex legal and regulatory challenges. Process and ensure the adequate response/ investigation of indications of possible compliance violations. Conduct in-depth legal research using WestLaw and other legal research tools. Maintain an effective compliance communication policy including the development, facilitation, delivery and monitoring of Compliance awareness efforts and training. Perform internal audits on existing policies and procedures, conduct investigations, and develop recommendations that align with the company standards. Observe and provide analysis on relevant legislation and case law. Qualifications: Bachelor's, Law degree/JD Degree/LLM or international equivalent.Compliance/ Privacy Professional Certification [Preferred].Bar admission (Admitted to practice law in any US state and in good standing).4 - 6 years of experience.Significant experience in a high-demand professional setting .Understanding of US corporate law and corporate compliance best practice in a wide range of focus areas (such as anti-bribery/anti-corruption, Antitrust, Sanctions, Data Privacy, Risk Management etc.).Leadership skills, negotiation, training and investigation skills.Ability to use discretion and diplomacy in all communications and to interface with cross-functional and international teams at all levels.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
