Senior Assistant General Counsel, Privacy Responsibilities: Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in areas of data use and protection laws (including state and federal consumer protection and privacy laws, GDPR and other global privacy laws) and business impact advice. Supports colleagues across the legal department in structuring, drafting, and negotiating transactional documents to respond to support enterprise objectives. Work closely with product counsel and product teams to guide privacy-forward product development and evaluate the impact of privacy laws, regulatory guidance and enforcement actions. Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving privacy analysis and compliance with cross-functional stakeholders across the business. Support members of the legal, and business teams on privacy legal matters, including areas related to partnerships, acquisitions, integrations, and other business development opportunities. Help to develop and conduct general and role-specific privacy trainings across Exact. Willing and eager to take on new areas of law and function independently in a demanding fast-paced environment. Ability to think quickly on your feet, convey grace under pressure, simultaneously manage workloads for multiple client demands and shifting priorities. Ability to operate autonomously while being a team player who brings a positive attitude to the workplace. Excellent oral and written communications/presentations, influence and persuasion, facilitation, and teamwork skills. Ability to work within a matrix management organization. Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork. Regular and reliable attendance. Ability to work designated schedule. Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day. Ability to travel 10% of the working time away from the work location may include overnight/weekend travel.

Qualifications: J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar. Must have 7+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience. 3+ years working on Privacy and technology matters. Experience advising on healthcare privacy legal (federal and state) risks and mitigations. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation. Experience with global privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially including those relevant to international data transfers and research. Experience managing direct reports. In-house experience with applicable product counseling, compliance, litigation, or regulatory teams. Experience prioritizing work and providing advice under deadlines. Business judgment and client counseling experience. Experience working cross-functionally to advance projects in a multi-stakeholder environment. Experience in medical technology, biotech, healthcare, or related field.
