This is what you ll do: The candidate will be part of the intellectual property team helping to protect company innovations and intellectual property while managing intellectual property disputes. Will include the following (other duties/activities may be assigned as needed): Formulate global IP strategies, including patent prosecution, monetization and transactions. Draft, negotiate and advise on licensing, SaaS, non-disclosure, consortium, strategic partnership and other IP agreements. Advise on open-source software licensing and compliance and develop strategy. Provide legal counsel to ensure developed technology is compliant with applicable laws/regulations and best practices pertaining to cybersecurity, data management and privacy. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify trade secrets and deploy protective measures. Assist on a wide range of projects/issues including IP risk assessment, freedom to practice, and due diligence. Conduct intellectual property training with focus on IP risk mitigation and patent and trade secret protection.

Qualifications: JD Degree with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field. Registered to practice before the USPTO. 8+ years of experience with patent prosecution, open source counseling, intellectual property transactions, licensing and monetization. Strong leadership and communication skills and professional judgment. Curious, fast learner, organized, strong oral and written communicator, and ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision. Demonstrated experience handling complex technical, patent, trade secret and copyright related issues. High level of interpersonal skills including the ability to work in a team. Experience identifying and harvesting patentable software innovations, preferably in the automotive space. Knowledge and understanding of computer software, automotive, electric vehicle or charging industries and business needs is desired. Ideal candidate will have practical software engineering experience.
