Associate General Counsel, Privacy

Associate General Counsel, Privacy Responsibilities: Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in areas of data use and protection laws (including state and federal consumer protection and privacy laws, GDPR and other global privacy laws) and advise on how they impact's business, with an emphasis on marketing, advertising and growth. Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving privacy analysis and compliance with stakeholders across's business, policy, legal, communications, security, and other departments. Support the legal, business, product, and policy teams on privacy and security-related legal matters and in evaluating the impact of privacy laws, regulatory guidance, enforcement actions, and policies. Develop regulatory strategy with global privacy regulators in connection with new product features and initiatives and maintain's ongoing privacy-by-design processes. Help draft and oversee the development and management of's (and its affiliates ) terms and data policies across the full range of's different products. Help to develop and conduct general and role-specific privacy trainings across . Manage internal privacy compliance programs and processes to ensure we meet our obligations under those programs. There may be opportunities to manage a team of counsel within the Privacy Legal team.

Qualifications: JD degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar. 8+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience with internet or technology companies (applicable litigation, regulatory, or product counseling will be considered). Experience with global privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially including those relevant for social media, internet and technology companies. Business judgment and client counseling experience. Preferred Qualifications. Experience providing legal counsel in the advertising technology, digital marketing and ads ecosystems. Proven experience demonstrating initiative in driving solutions cross-functionally. Experience working proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment. Experience collaborating in a multi-stakeholder environment, navigating complex issues, and driving high-impact projects.
