Corporate Counsel

Corporate Counsel Duties: Work directly with the business teams as lead counsel on a broad range of new and existing products and services, with duties including identifying legal risks and proposing mitigation strategies; advising on regulatory and compliance matters, privacy, intellectual property, and go-to-market strategy; providing day-to-day input on business strategy; and analyzing and contributing to policy positions around the world. Work directly with senior leaders and a variety of stakeholders, including product, tech, marketing, customer support, privacy, data security, public relations, and public policy teams. Develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways, and build processes that address risk and allow the business to innovate and scale quickly.

Qualifications: Juris Doctor (J.D.) and admitted to at least one state bar (or equivalent). 5+ years of legal experience. Preferred: 2+ years of practice experience focused on issues related to privacy, new technologies, or machine learning. Combination of law firm and in-house legal experience. Experience working cross-functionally and with a variety of stakeholders (paralegals, other lawyers, and engineers). Experience managing and exercising sound judgment in mission-critical projects, working independently, and navigating ambiguous situations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Sound and practical business judgment and common sense. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow-through, and meet deadlines.
